The Center for Comparative Conflict Studies (CFCCS) at the Faculty of Media and Communications (FMK), Singidunum University invites you to apply for the fifth Summer School in Comparative Conflict Studies. The 2014 Summer School will take place at the Faculty of Media and Communications in Belgrade, from June 30 to July 7, 2014.

We are now receiving applications for the following four courses to choose from:
„Re-Imagining“ the Balkans - Inquiries into diversity, borders and migration
Dr. Jelena Tošić (University of Vienna, Austria)

Rethinking Transitional Justice: Lessons from the Balkans and Beyond
Dr. Olivera Simić (Griffith University, Australia)

From the Discourse of Brotherhood and Unity to the Discourse of EU Integration: the case of "transition" in Serbia
Dr. Jelisaveta Blagojević (Singidunum University, Serbia)

The Challenge of International Intervention: Balancing Justice and Order
Dr. Maxine David (University of Surrey, United Kingdom)

**Language instruction in all courses is English**

We invite graduate students, advanced undergraduate students, NGO leaders and civil society activists from all countries to apply.

Reduced tuition is available for applicants from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. This reduced tuition is also available for students from other conflict or post-conflict regions.

Full Scholarship awarded by the European Fund for the Balkansis available for 10 strongest selected applicants fromAlbania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. Interested applicants should fill out the additional section in the application form when applying for this scholarship.

3 additional Full Scholarships will be awarded by Kvinna till Kvinna Serbia, for women engaged in work/activism in feminist and women organizations from Serbia. Students who complete the course requirements may transfer the course credit to their home institution (5 ECTS).

The 2014 CFCCS Summer School experience in Belgrade went beyond my expectations. The courses were interesting, stimulating and well-thought-out. As a historian interested in complex process of transition from communist regime to democracy in Central and Eastern Europe, and especially in the countries in former Yugoslavia, I found the course From Brotherhood and Unity to be very interesting, informative, and useful. This summer program was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and learn different processes that were related with transition in the former Yugoslavia. The course helped me think comparatively on different topics. Our time in class was very productive, we discussed the readings and exchanged ideas through students presentations. Debates were very powerful and successful. It was a very interesting experience to get to know different people from all over the world. We had a lot of fun. I learned some new perspectives on conflicts, current policies, and social problems. I also learned a lot about the importance of understanding complexity as an integral part of human life.
