Zorica Mršević

Zorica Mršević currently works as senior research fellow of the Institute of Social Sciences in Belgrade. She was Deputy Ombudsman of the Republic of Serbia for gender equality and the rights of persons with disabilities, in the period from 2008 till beginning of 2011. She has also been professor at the Faculty of European Legal and Political Studies in Novi Sad for five years. She taught as the visiting professor for a year at the University of Iowa (USA), moreover at the Central European University in Budapest three academic years and at Rosa Mayreder College in Vienna, one academic year. She was gender advisor of the OSCE Mission to Serbia from 2001 till 2008. She is the author of 25 books and over 400 scientific papers in the fields of law, theories of violence, gender equality, human rights of women and other marginalized groups, and criminology. Zorica Mršević is particularly engaged in promoting the ideas and practices respecting the principle of non discrimination, gender equality, human rights of women and marginalized groups, the spread of knowledge about them, cooperate with state bodies and institutions, associations and organizations dealing with the promotion of human and political rights and freedoms.
