Marija Mandić

Marija Mandić is a Belgrade-based research fellow of the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. She received her Ph.D. in linguistics from the Belgrade University in 2010. Her research interests are linguistic anthropology, sociolinguistics, critical discourse analysis, ethnicity and nationality studies. As a part of the research team of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA she has been engaged in the extensive field work among multiethnic communities of the South Eastern Europe. Marija published two monographs (co-authored with Detelić, Mirjana: Beli grad: poreklo folklorne formule i slovenskog toponima (in Serbian) [White City : Origin of Epic Formula and Slavic Toponym] Belgrade, 2006, and Discourse and Ethnic Identity: the Case of the Serbs from Hungary. München, Berlin, 2014), and more than 40 papers.
